Cholesterol is a waxy substance that comes from your
body and from the food you eat. The body, especially the liver, produces the
cholesterol you need and then take it off into the blood stream. The liver will
produce more cholesterol when you eat a lot of foods that contain a lot of
saturated fat and trans fat.
Too much cholesterol in your bloodstream can result in
the formation of plaque, which can inhibit your blood circulation. If the blockage
of blood flow occurs in the blood flow towards the brain, then this can lead to
a stroke. If the blockage of blood flow occurs in the heart, then it can lead
to a heart attack.
There are two types of cholesterol in our body, that is
the good cholesterol and bad cholesterol.

The amount of good cholesterol or high-density
lipoprotein (HDL) high in the blood is a good thing for your health. HDL
cholesterol can protect your body from heart disease because it can help remove
the bad cholesterol in your blood stream. HDL cholesterol will take advantage
of the existing bad cholesterol in the bloodstream and carries it to the liver
for broken down and excreted from the body. So, a high HDL cholesterol level in
the bloodstream can make your escape from heart disease or stroke.
Bad cholesterol
The higher the levels of bad cholesterol or low-density
lipoprotein (LDL) in the blood, the higher the risk you are exposed to heart
disease. LDL cholesterol can clog your blood vessels, so that it can cause
heart disease or stroke. You can lower the levels of LDL cholesterol in the
blood by way of changing your eating habits, do regular exercise,
