How to Inject Insulin -If you have diabetes type 1 you certainly already
familiar to get injections of insulin. For those of you who suffered from type
2 diabetes, you probably will not get regular insulin injections, but what is
the harm in just in case? Insulin injections for type 1 diabetic patients and 2

Before getting started, things you have to do is:
• Learn how to inject insulin by themselves
• Inject your insulin in different places
• Test your blood sugar levels

• Always use a new needle each injecting
The steps:
• Inject insulin out of little ampules in the air, to
make sure the tip of the needle is fully charged by insulin, and not the air.
This step is called "air shot"
• Inject insulin into a part containing many layers of
fat as the upper thigh or the buttocks.
• Pinch the skin area which will be injected (but don't
be too hard because it will make your skin pale and sick) and insert a needle
with an angle of 90 degrees. No need to replace with shorter needles, unless
your body is very thin. Consult your doctor if you have any questions about
this.
• Inject the needle into the area that you want. If the
area you feel sick once you are finished injecting, compress with ice for 15-20
seconds.
• Make sure the syringes and pen actually entered into
the skin and count for 10 second before injection
• Remove the pinch and dispose of the syringe in a safe
place
Tips when injecting insulin
Underbelly: give a distance of about 5 cm from your
navel or scars.
Thighs: Inject approximately 10 cm above the knee or at
least 10 cm below the crotch area. The best places ON the foot to be given injections
of insulin is the upper thighs and outer.
Arm: fatty tissue in this part of the upper arm is the
most appropriate area for injection.
Butt: Injected near the hips instead of near the
buttocks.
The area is a good idea to inject 2, 5 cm from the
previous shot. Do a rotation in one region for one week, then recently moved to
other areas. Avoid injecting into scar tissue or nearby areas there are
varicose veins.
Massaging or exercise immediately after administering
injections can accelerate the absorption. If you plan to do heavy physical
activity shortly after injecting insulin, insulin injections do not in the
affected area of the effect while exercising.
